On 17 September 2021, Dr Wagdy Samir, AIOCS Director for Orthodox Studies, has become a member of the prestigious Association Internationale d’Études Patristiques/International Association of Patristic Studies (AIEP/IAPS). The Association has its centre in Paris, France. This membership recognises his contributions to the advancement of patristic studies, especially his comparative research of the wisdom of Saint Cyril of Alexandria and Father Matta al-Miskīn.
