On 11 September 2021 the YouTube channel of the International Association of Patristic Studies (AIEP/IAPS) premiered the video recording of an interview of Associate Professor Doru Costache, AIOCS’ founding director. The interview, conducted by Dr Andrew Mellas, from St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College, is entitled “Patristic Studies, Interdisciplinary Approaches, and Orthodox Christianity.” The discussion focused on a number of topics, such as Costache’s recent book, Humankind and the Cosmos: Early Christian Representations (Brill, 2021) and his personal trajectory in patristic studies. Other topics were the relevance of the patristic phenomenon for the contemporary Orthodox experience, including in terms of the ecumenical rapprochement between various Christian traditions. The interview concluded with comments on ISCAST’s activities and Costache’s work for this organisation.
