In this short video, Doru Costache explains the method of natural contemplation he gleaned from the writings of Saint Clement of Alexandria (d. ca 215). The method entails three stages, description/analysis, interpretation, and vision. He addresses aspects of this method in a range of journal articles and book chapters (check out his academia.edu profile), and more fully in his monograph, Humankind and the Cosmos: Early Christian Representations (Leiden and Boston: Brill, 2021).
Recorded on 3 November 2021 at Mona Vale Headlands NSW Australia. The explanation begins at min. 2:37.
