29 July 2017 Doru Costache gave a presentation at ‘A Day of Orthodox Spirituality’ organised by St Cyril’s Coptic Orthodox Theological College and held in the hall of St Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church, Arncliffe. His presentation was on ‘The Burning Bush Group: Spiritual Resistance in Communist Romania.’ Other presentations included Revd Dr Daniel Fanous, Dean of St Cyril’s, on ‘The Hero of St Isaac the Syrian: The Solitary and a Modern Day Legacy,’ Very Revd Archimandrite Dr Basilios Kodseie, Patriarchal Vicar of the Antiochian Archdiocese of Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines, on ‘The Spiritual Father in the text of the Philokalia of the Holy Neptic Fathers,’ and Father Anthony St Shenouda, ‘The Arrow Prayer Outside the Monastery.’ The event was chaired by Mr Michael Ibrahim, Director of Learning and Teaching at St Cyril’s.
