On 27 October 2021, the Orthodox Christian Studies Center of Fordham University, New York, held an interesting seminar, “Orthodox Christian Spirituality and Mental Health.”
Abstract: Our current moment has been described as a “mental health crisis” that has impacted more young adults than previously recorded. This panel of experts discusses the intersection of religion and mental health, with a particular focus on Orthodox Christian spirituality as a resource for mental health. What is Orthodox Christian spirituality? How can it be a resource for confronting mental health challenges provoked by social media, Covid-19, hyper-individualist culture, and even religion itself?
